Omega- 3 Index
Our Omega-3 Index is similar to our BrainSpan offering, but with its own twist. This lab is specific to personalizing a plan specific to our products at Standard Process. SoulFit recommends this to be used in addition to Brain Span.
Omega-3’s are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA’s) that play critical roles in the human body and are particularly abundant in the brain and retina of the eyes. These PUFA’s and their metabolites regulate several important body systems on a cellular level, including cardiovascular, pulmonary, immune, nervous, and endocrine systems.
As with most things in life, it’s all about balance. The body needs fatty acids found in both Omega-3 and Omega-6, but it’s crucial to have them in the proper ratio for good health. Currently, the Standard American Diet (SAD) is high in Omega-6 and low in Omega-3. This can tip a healthy body system out of balance and allow low levels of inflammation to occur. The body needs a higher ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 for supporting the resolution phase of the inflammation process.

Tissue Mineral Hair Analysis
Mineral Ratios and Heavy Metals
Trace mineral tissue analysis is a test that measures the mineral content of your hair. The mineral content of the hair reflects the mineral content of the body's tissues. If a mineral deficiency or excess exists in the hair, it usually indicates a mineral deficiency or excess within the body or bio-unavailability.
Examples: If your hair reveals an elevated calcium level two or three times normal, there will be a strong tendency for arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries due to calcium plaques). Or, if your tissue calcium is low, then a tendency exists toward osteoporosis (demineralization of the bone) which can increase the risk of bone fractures, dental caries, periodontal disease, muscle cramps, etc.
Various mineral imbalances, as revealed by hair analysis frequently lead to metabolic dysfunctions before any symptoms become manifest. This test also identifies tissue levels of toxic heavy metals like mercury and aluminum.
